Summary of CME Conducted on 19.09.2024 at District Hospital, Senapati

A Continuing Medical Education (CME) session was held on 19th September 2024 at the Conference Hall, District Hospital Senapati, with the participation of doctors, DRP PGTs, and nurses. The session was led by Dr. Apao Remai, the Surveillance Medical Officer (WHO), who covered two important topics:

  1. Routine Immunization
  2. Vaccine-Preventable Disease (VPD) Surveillance

  • Routine Immunization:
    Dr. Apao emphasized the critical role of routine immunization in preventing the spread of infectious diseases. He provided insights into the current immunization coverage, challenges in improving outreach, and strategies to enhance vaccination efforts, particularly in rural and hard-to-reach areas.

  • Vaccine-Preventable Disease (VPD) Surveillance:
    The session also covered the importance of surveillance in identifying and controlling vaccine-preventable diseases. Report on Swachhata Hi Seva Activity at District Hospital, Senapati

As part of the nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 campaign, the staff of District Hospital, Senapati enthusiastically participated in a cleanliness drive on 18.09.2024. The event saw active involvement from all staff members, including doctors, nurses, administrative personnel, and support staff, who collectively contributed to making the hospital premises and surrounding areas cleaner and more hygienic.

 

Activity Overview:

The cleanliness drive began in the morning with a gathering of all hospital staff, followed by the distribution of cleaning tools such as brooms, dustpans, garbage bags, and disinfectants. Teams were formed to ensure the thorough cleaning of specific sections of the hospital, including:

  • Outdoor surroundings such as the parking lot, garden areas, and entryways.
  • Indoor spaces including wards, waiting areas, corridors, and staff offices.

The activity aimed to remove any litter, organize spaces, and enhance the overall cleanliness of the hospital environment. Special attention was paid to waste segregation and the removal of any non-biodegradable materials to align with the campaign’s emphasis on sustainability and proper waste disposal.

 

Outcome:

The hospital and its surroundings were left in a much-improved state, contributing to a more pleasant and sanitary environment for both staff and patients. The initiative not only improved physical cleanliness but also boosted team spirit among the staff, fostering a sense of collective responsibility towards public health.

 

Closing:

Following the successful cleaning drive, all participants enjoyed a well-deserved and delicious lunch, which served as a token of appreciation for their hard work and dedication. The meal provided an opportunity for everyone to relax, bond, and celebrate their contribution to the Swachhata Hi Seva movement.

The event was a great success, reflecting the commitment of the District Hospital, Senapati, towards maintaining cleanliness and supporting the national mission of Swachh Bharat.

CME on Shock management and Management of Mass Casualty

On July 31, 2024, District Hospital Senapati hosted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) event, drawing healthcare professionals from the District Hospital Senapati to engage in critical discussions on advanced medical practices. The event featured two distinguished speakers who shared their expertise on pivotal topics. Dr. Mekhulsim delivered an insightful presentation on the “Management of Mass Casualty,” emphasizing strategies to efficiently handle large-scale emergencies. His lecture covered triage techniques, resource allocation, and coordination with emergency services to optimize patient outcomes during mass casualty incidents. Following this, Dr. Shonshan presented on “Shock Management,” delving into the complexities of identifying and treating various types of shock. His talk included the latest protocols for fluid resuscitation, vasopressor use, and monitoring patient response. The session provided attendees with practical knowledge and enhanced their preparedness for handling critical situations. The CME not only fostered a deeper understanding of emergency management but also promoted collaboration among the medical community in Senapati, ensuring that the district is better equipped to respond to future medical emergencies.

Gandhi Jayanti Observation Day

Gandhi Jayanti Observation Day

5th October 2022, DH Senapati: A Cleanliness drive was carried out on the campus of district hospital Senapati. All the staff took part in the event, which was divided into three main parts: cleanliness drive, awareness and demonstration against violence in the hospital. 

Teams had been created for various tasks such as garden maintenance, grass trimming, painting, cooking, moving articles, ground floor cleaning, first-floor cleaning and 2nd-floor cleaning. The entire activities were coordinated by Medical Superintendent, senior doctors and senior nurses. 

All the staff displayed their zealousness in bringing about positive changes in the District Hospital. With a good sense of belongingness, everyone contributed their best in fulfilling the tasks assigned.

The activities continued for about 4 hours before commencing a short rally to promote a cleanliness drive and also to demonstrate against violence in the hospital. Other than the hospital staff the rally was also participated by a few patient and patient parties and neighbouring residents. 

At the end of the event, all the staff were invited to a luncheon arranged by Medical Superintendent. And after the delicious and nutritious meal, everyone resumes their normal duties.

National Rabies Control Programme Senapati District observed 16th World Rabies Day on 28th September 2022.

The programme was moderated by Dr Indira Thingbaijam and the keynote presentation was given by Dr A. Mercy. The Chief Guest and Guest of Honour gave their valuable speeches on the occasion.

This event gave awareness and updates related to the rabies control programme to all the medical and non-medical attendees.

RKS Meeting

RKS meeting was conducted at DC Conference Hall on 28.09.2022 with all DLOs, CSO and District Hospital staff. The meeting was chaired by DC Senapati.

The RKS meetings are carried out periodically to bring about positive changes in District Hospital Senapati, all important aspects of patient care are being discussed thoroughly and solutions for various shortfalls. 

District Hospital RKS Committee members continued to discuss the agendas and minutes of the meeting with all the departments in DH.
